Violent conflicts and wars have been recurrent throughout history. Only in the first half of 2016, millions of individuals have been affected on a daily basis. From increased insecurity, to economic instability and the collapse of law and order, the effects of conflict at the local, national, regional and international levels are devastating.
Built on the expertise of UNITAR and the Univeristat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), the Master in Conflictology presents a unique opportunity to professionals working within the framework of international and regional organizations, as well as governmental and non-governmental institutions to examine conflicts in all of their dimensions and to explore innovative approaches for their management, resolution and transformation, through a network of world-leading academics and experts
The programme aims at professionals (civilian, military and police) working in conflict-prone environments, within the framework of international and regional organizations (United Nations, African Union, European Union – among others), as well as governmental and non-governmental organizations. Additionally, the Master’s Degree and related qualifications are open to graduate students, young researchers and other academics interest in understanding conflicts and acquiring skills to address them. By choosing the International Master’s Degree in Conflictology, students gain access to a broad group of alumni spread across the world. Becoming a part of this community will be a valuable asset for a lifetime.

To apply, click here and follow the instructions. Applications become complete and ready for review once all required items have been received by UNITAR. Students should allow 2 to 3 weeks from the date they submitted their application for its review by the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee will notify applicants by email if their file is missing any documents and again when their file is complete for review. These notifications are sent to the email address provided in the online application.
If granted, admission is valid for two intakes, the intake the candidate applies for and the following.
